He provides overall business management, strategic guidance, and coordination of the activities of the organization he is heading. He serves as the primary representative for Excel Hort Consult Ltd (EHC) and ensures the overall, efficiency and effectiveness of the projects at EHC. Ambrose has over 8 years’ experience in various senior level management positions with core competences in project management, Fund management, Strategic planning, agribusiness incubation management, accounting and Finance management and Financial Statement preparations. He also has knowledge and expertise in program management such as; UniBRAIN initiative that was supported by DANIDA and Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) which aims at jobs and wealth creation through sustainable agribusiness development. Switch Africa Green Project Uganda supported by European Union through United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and United Nations for Project Services (UNOPS) which aims at promoting sustainable green energy consumption and production practices and Eco-entrepreneurship among other programs funded by FAO and Self Help Africa currently being implemented by Excel Hort Consult Ltd. He has worked with Afri Banana Products Ltd a non-profit making agribusiness incubator in banana value chain development, he worked with Delight (U) Ltd the manufacturers of Cheers Juice as a Finance and Administration manager and also worked with AKAMWESI LTD a tree planting and real estate’s company as an accountant.
Director of Research and Innovations
Anke Weisheit is an Agricultural Engineer, MSc with more than 16 years of experience in tropical agriculture, value chain development and agri-business in Eastern and Southern Africa. Currently, she is the Director of Research and Innovations at Excel Hort Consult Limited Uganda, Deputy Task Force Leader for the establishment of the Pharm-Biotechnology and Traditional Medicine Centre at Mbarara University of Science and Technology, and Chairperson Programmes and Research Committee of THETA Uganda. In addition, she is an External Expert to the European Commission Horizon2020 and a Co-founder and Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Agribusiness Incubation Alliance of Uganda. She has researched and consulted for the United Nations Development Programme, Wold Bank, World Health Organization, World Agroforestry Centre, and German Agency for International Cooperation among others.
Tusingwire Sarah is an active development facilitator associated with agribusiness, innovation and incubation companies. Sarah is currently the programme Manager of Excel Hort Consult, the General Secretary of Uganda Banana Producers Cooperative Union ltd, Regional Mobilizer for Uganda Forum for Agricultural Advisory services (UFAAS) Western Region, Vice chairperson for Excel Hort Consult SACCO, Executive committee member of Policy Analyst and Advocacy Programme (PAAP), a gender mainstreaming unit of ASARECA as a Trainer of Trainees in gender mainstreaming in agricultural Research, and she is the value chain specialist for Afri Banana Products ltd (ABP). Sarah holds a master Degree in Development Studies from Bishop Stuart University and has a bachelor’s Degree in development studies from Mbarara University of Science and Technology with other certificates in project planning and management, Guidance and Counselling, Agribusiness incubation, Monitoring and Evaluation, Gender Mainstreaming in Agricultural Research, Mainstreaming Gender and nutrition in Agricultural extension to mention, Sarah is an experienced researcher and has made publications on the climate smart Agricultural and rural development which can be accessed on www.excelhort.com.
